Methods in Projective Geometries

The University of Adelaide Institute for Geometry and its Applications is hosting a Finite Geometry Workshop on Methods in Projective Geometries during the week 13-17 July 1998. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss and develop new methods that can be used in finite projective geometries. We will consider open problems in the context of these and other techniques.

Dr James Hirschfeld (University of Sussex) has confirmed that he will participate in the workshop.

The workshop will be held in the Mathematics Building of the University of Adelaide.

There may be some financial support available to research students who wish to participate. Please contact Christine O'Keefe for further information.

Accomodation can be arranged at the Royal Adelaide Hospital Residential Wing which is adjacent to the University of Adelaide. Student rooms with shared facilities are $10 per night. There are several rooms with ensuite, lounge room and either one or two bedrooms (each bedroom containing twin beds). These rooms are $45 per night for one person and $55 per night for two or more people. Information about hotels can be provided on request.
